Is It Foolishness or Faith, Part 4: Lot And Sodom
The true story of Lot and the destruction of Sodom is a warning for those who either refuse to get out of sin or do so and “look back” as did Lot’s wife who was caught in the fire and brimstone which God rained down and immediately turned the city and everything and everyone therein to ash.
Is It Foolishness or Faith? Part 2
The struggles of Abraham and Sarah are reflective of those which Christians world-wide face in their journeys to mature their faith. Each individual’s challenges are specific to him or her, but every person has a faith-growing cycle. It took Abraham a quarter of a century to learn to trust God enough that he would do what God told him without question instead of coming up with his personal plan to “help God.” From Abraham, we learn how spiritual growth is stunted by sin and how we bring crises upon ourselves by refusing to follow the Word of God. Artifacts from diggings from Abraham’s birthplace, Ur, reveal the pagan, idol-worshipping family and culture in which he was reared and from which God told him to leave.
