The LORD’S Prayer Part 1 is also called “Could You Not Pray One Hour?” This first part of three parts of this teaching is adapted from the publication called “The LORD’S Prayer” available in our Materials link.

Topics discussed include why we should examine our prayer life by using the LORD’s Prayer as an outline developed by Jesus through His prayer. The Prayer, from the sixth chapter of Matthew, has been broken down into the Salutation, seven Petitions, the Doxology, and the Closing. The YouTube video captures, in an engaging format, the Salutation and the first four Petitions: Hallowed be Thy Name; Thy Kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, and Give us this day our daily bread.

The feature image is adapted from a drawing by Gustave Dore, born January 6, 1832. By age five, he was recognized as a prodigy artist. In 1866, he was commissioned to illustrate the Bible. The image used in this LORD’S Prayer teaching is one of those he illustrated of Jesus in the Garden of Gethesame.
