In the lesson, When Did Adam and Eve Die, you were asked to analyze the above complex graphic divided into three sections. If you did not complete that lesson or analyze the above graphic, please do so before you continue with this lesson. You will then be able to see how many of the images you were able to recognize as the collage is broken down below. Before you begin this exercise, please carefully and slowly read all of Genesis, Chapter Three, at least one time. Be sure to fill in all blanks, answer all questions, and read all suggested Scriptures. Use a King James Bible. If you don’t have one, see our Materials section to order one or click on the following link for an online King James Bible: https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/index.php

Panel 1 Analysis: Tree of Life

Tree of life with 12 different fruitThere are 12 different kinds of fruit on the Tree of Life.

The tree of life and the tree of knowledge of good and evil are introduced in Genesis 2:9. And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of ___________ also in the _________ of the garden, and the __________________________________ evil. Genesis 2:9

However, at the end of chapter three, because Adam and Eve sinned against the Word of God, they were cut off from the tree that freely gave them eternal life: 22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know ________________________: and now, ________ he put forth his hand, and ________ also of the ______________________, and eat, and live ______________: 23 Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. 24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the ________________________. Genesis 3:22-24

The last book of the Bible, Revelation, gives us another look at the Tree of Life: 7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that ____________________ will I give to eat of the __________________, which is in the __________ of the paradise of God. Revelation 2:7

In the __________ of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the _________________, which bare __________________ manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. Revelation 22:2

Blessed are they that ______ his [God’s] ___________________, that they may have right to the tree _________, and may enter in through the gates into the city. Revelation 22:14

Do you want to have the right to the Tree of Life? _________ What is the key to having the privilege to eat of the Tree of life? See Revelation 22:14.
What does it mean to “do His Commandments?”

Panel 2 Analysis: Sin brought death

Adam and Eve sinned and brought death into worldIn the middle panel, the entrance of SIN into a perfect world is depicted. Behind this is a Cherubim with a flaming sword keeping the “way of the tree of life.” In the foreground, Adam and Eve are shown being evicted from the garden (wearing animal skin coverings). They who were perfect (not ashamed) before they sinned now were ashamed of their nakedness and even tried to hide from God: Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of __________, and clothed them. Genesis 3:21 There had been no death before sin. However sin brought in awareness of sin and nakedness; thus, Innocent sheep were killed to provide a covering for Adam and Eve, clothing needed to cover their nakedness created by sin.

The finger of God is pointing to innocent dead sheep, killed to make a “covering” for the man and woman who in their selfishness turned from God to enjoy the pleasure of sin for a “season.” However, the price they paid and all generations thereafter cannot be measured

Jesus would, many years later, be killed as the innocent sacrificial lamb to wash away the sin debt of those who turn to Him and live righteously.

The sin of Adam and Eve, like ours, can be categorized into three areas as recorded in First John 2:15-16 15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the ____________, and the _________ of the ___________, and the __________ of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. (I John 2:16)

Panel 3 Analysis: Sin’s effect on food, plants, and man

Sin brought death to people, animals, food supply; Adam & Eve were deceived by such as a sheep in wolve's clothingIn Panel 3, at the top right, is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. That’s how sin comes in to deceive even the elect. Beware of _______________________, which come to you in ______________ clothing, but inwardly they are ravening __________. Matthew 7:16 Ravening wolves entice us to sin. Today there are many wolves in sheep’s clothing proclaiming untruths. Many “sheep” partake of these untruths (what God forbids) as they reach out to embrace sin.

There are even pastors and ministry leaders who deceive those who do not carefully study the Word of God. Recall, God addressed Satan, the serpent in Genesis 3:1 as more subtil than any beast in the field. 14 And no marvel; for ___________ himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his _______________ also be transformed as the ministers of ____________________________; whose end shall be according to their works. 2 Corinthians 11:14-15

The fruit on the tree is darkened to symbolize decay entering all aspects of the world because of sin; however, it wasn’t the (innocent) fruit that was evil but the heart of man (Adam) that ushered in death and dying and thus the decaying fruit.

Lower right: The hand becomes like the bite of the serpent holding partially decayed darkened fruit and a snake woven through fingers of man’s open hand.

Man, given free will and the privilege to choose between good and evil, falls prey to pride, the lusts of the flesh and eyes as he rejects God’s ways and sets up his own “kingdom” by which he lives. In contrast, God only asks each person to abide by His plan; to “do his commandments …” and live. Revelation 22:14
